It’s the New Year!  We all want that fresh start, new look and amazing ambiance in our home. What better way to start the year than with a brand new kitchen showing exquisite design trends for 2015!

One of the most common remodels in Los Angeles today are mainly…The Kitchen. We all love a beautiful kitchen in our home. The feeling when guests walking in and adoring the unique look that we have in our home is overwhelming. Well, let’s get started and see what we have in store for this year…

Houses that have been built about 20-30 years ago are more likely to be remodeled today. A variety of upgrades and new inventions have occurred and we always want to incorporate that in our home. Here are a few new trends and ideas you want to consider when doing your kitchen remodel.

Keeping it Transitional

If you want to keep the traditional look but would like to mix it up with a modern touch, then you can go with a transitional look. You don’t have to completely leave the traditional style out of the way but you can incorporate it with a few touches with moldings to keep the old and blend with the new.

Metal Accents

Copper range hoods, stainless steel sheets, aluminum backsplashes are one of the few metal accents we can incorporate in today’s kitchen remodeling project. It not only adds to the beauty of the kitchen but it also creates an edge in the kitchen design. Go out of the box and try something different, go a little on the bold side and maybe try a stainless steel designed backsplash to add spark to a contemporary kitchen.

Clean Lines

The most popular kitchen design styles in Los Angeles today is the Shaker style. It has clean lines and shows a contemporary look and style to your kitchen. On the other hand, having clean lines also makes it easier to keep clean which is one of the necessities today.

Open Spaces

Many of the kitchen remodeling projects today include a removal of a wall that divides the kitchen to the living room. This creates the open concept that is popular in todays’ kitchen design layout. This creates a feeling of openness and widens up the space. Another added option would be to create an open shelving system where in you can display your favorite dish wares. Adding an accented wall behind that open shelving will create a unique look to the kitchen and will make your favorite plates pop.

Accent wall

Many people are ripping off wallpapers from their 1980’s kitchen. However, these are still around and if used on one wall to accent the kitchen, it will create a statement. Your guests can compliment your kitchen with one word that says…”wow”

Turn the lights on

One thing to always keep in mind is good lighting. This is one aspect in the kitchen design that brings a tremendous effect to the kitchen. A combination of ambient and task lighting is always a must. Recessed lights can be placed throughout the kitchen. Under cabinet LED lights can be placed to give you the ease when chopping up vegetables or preparing meals. A set of gorgeous glass pendant lights can accentuate the island and give it the glam or an elegant chandelier above the dining room table.

These are a few elements that can help you get started your kitchen remodeling in 2015.
